–  The Bottom Line  –

Less than one week ago I weighed 315+ pounds.  Today I am 299 pounds.  I am not surprised because I have been here before.  I once fasted for 5 days, water only, and at the end of the 5 days, I not only had lost a lot of weight, (I forget how much) but I do remember that I had to force myself to eat again AND I never felt better mentally or physically in my life!

Of course it sounds like bullcrap but as always TBL Guy has to tell it like it is and so here it is:

In researching about this I came upon a few very interesting theories that make total sense yet fly in the face of conventional 'wisdom.'

– Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism –
– Food and more particularly, heavy meals, require most of the nerve energy of the body to handle digestion.  Thus the mind becomes enervated (without vigor, force, or strength) making most people dull, sleepy and leaving their precious nerve energy at it's lowest ebb. –
Here's what Dr. Paul C.Bragg, Life Extension Specialist, and Father of the Health Movement in America had to say:
– All 3 Fathers of Western Medicine have fasted and have prescribed fasting. Hippocrates, Galen and Paracelsus, who declared fasting "the greatest remedy, the physician within" –
– Throughout history, the world's greatest philosophers and sages including Socrates, Plato, Buddha and Gandhi have enjoyed fasting and preached it's benefits –

And as always, don't take my word for it;

hippocrates"Everyone has a doctor in him or her; we just have to help it in its work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. Our food should be our medicine. Our medicine should be our food. But to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness."  Hippocrates, M.D., Father of Western Medicine

"Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body. Within 24 hours of curtailing food intake, enzymes stop entering the stomach and travel instead into the intestines and into the bloodstream, where they circulate and gobble up all sorts of waste matter, including dead and damaged cells, unwelcome microbes, metabolic wastes, and pollutants.
All organs and glands get a much-needed and well-deserved rest, during which their tissues are purified and rejuvenated and their functions balanced and regulated. The entire alimentary canal is swept clean. By rebuilding immunity, health is naturally restored and disease disappears.  – Evart Loomis M.D.
"Fasting is the greatest remedy – the physician within." – Paracelsus, 15th century physician who established the role of chemicals in medicine.
"The best of all medicines are rest and fasting"Benjamin Franklin

Why fasting?

"Humans live on one-quarter of what they eat; on the other three-quarters lives their doctor." – Egyptian pyramid inscription, 3800 B.C.

"Very few people know what real health is, because most are occupied with killing themselves slowly." – Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Ph.D., Hungarian-born American biochemist; Nobel Prize in physiology and medical science

Before we look at how to fast, let's examine the question: "Why fasting?" Although hundreds of fasting centers and clinics have existed in most European countries throughout the 20th century, Americans are still very far behind the learning curve regarding scientific, therapeutic fasting, as well as in adopting natural and organic food diets.

Likewise, despite all 3 Fathers of Western Medicine having fasted and having prescribed fasting (Hippocrates, Galen and Paracelsus, who declared fasting "the greatest remedy, the physician within"), the fact remains that symptoms-oriented trained U.S. physicians are also equally in the dark. …..
