–  The Bottom Line  –

January 8th marks the 50th anniversary of ‘The War on Poverty.’   Indeed it is America’s longest running war but it’s cost and failures are too familiar.

failed-war-on-povertyFew can argue that the last war that America actually won, in any sense of the word, was World War Two.  Yes it’s been some 70 years of one war after another that has resulted in failure by America and it’s ‘leaders’ who ran shotgun on these mindless missions.   Seventy years, TRILLIONS of dollars and thousands of brave young Americans gave their lives in these futile wars designed by unqualified and misguided ‘leaders’.  Indeed America’s biggest failures were the leadership spearheaded by an inept and narcissistic lawyer class of politicians.

GLOOGLogoHere’s a short list of the most failed ‘wars’ in the last 70 years.

            War                             Length                              $Cost (FY2011$)                American Military Casualties

1.  Korean War:         1950 – 1953 / 3 Years            $341 BILLION Dollars    + 35,516 Young Americans Dead

2.  War on Poverty:    1964 – Present / 50 Years     $20 TRILLION Dollars

3.  Vietnam War:        1965 – 1975 / 10 Years          $738 BILLION Dollars   +  58,209 Young Americans Dead

4. War on Drugs:      1971 – Present / 43 Years       $1 TRILLION Dollars     +  45 million arrests & Countless lives

5. Gulf War:                1990 – 1991 / 1 Year            $102 BILLION Dollars   +   208 Young Americans Dead

6. “War on ‘Terror”  –  This is a misnomer since ‘terror’ is a tactic and has been employed since the beginning of time and  will remain until evil is conquered once and for all; which is very unlikely…   More specifically and honestly it can be called the War on Islam since it is this one specific group that is carrying out 99% of all atrocities/acts of war and is the professed enemy of America, and the world.  (Calling Islam “Islam”)  Included in this war:

*  September 11, 2001:   2 TRILLION Dollars      +  3000+  American Civilians Dead (1)

*  Iraq &  Afghanistan War:   4-6 TRILLION Dollars +  8,199+Young Americans Dead

The question that begs to be answered is: Was anyone ever held responsible and/or punished for these catastrophic failures?   The answer is no.  And that’s why the so called ‘leadership’ of this nation continues to fail and slowly destroy the country.

It’s really simple to understand when the obvious, human nature, is considered.   If a child or any person makes mistakes or fails and there is no accountability or punishment, then his character and his actions will continue to be misguided will only grow under the umbrella of ignorance and forgiveness held by those around him.

1.  Thanks to LBJ’s welfare program there are now 75% of black children without a father in the home which has resulted in devestated inner cities and more black males are in prison than are enrolled in colleges and universities..

2.  Thanks to LBJ’s ‘war on poverty’  we have spent $15 trillion “fighting” poverty since 1965 and we are currently spending $ 1 trillion a year – an amount equal to about $22,000 per poor person or $88,000 for a family of four. Yet our poverty rate today (16%) is higher than when we started (14%)! If there has been a War on Poverty, poverty won. LBJ13.  On August 20, 1964, President Lyndon Johnson (Georgetown Law School) signed the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964.

Now for the first time, a person who was not elderly or disabled could receive a living from the American government. (The American work ethic, the backbone of American Tradition, was poisoned.)

Now for the first time, a woman didn’t need a husband to support her baby.

Now for the first time, immorality and procreation outside the family were enabled and financed by the government.

Now for the first time, more and more children would grow up without a father.

Now for the first time, citizens would stand on the grocery line spending their hard earned dollars while a ‘mother’ with 2,3,4,5,6 children and no father, would pay using food stamps. (The more children , and in many cases the more different fathers, the more money and food stamps were provided.)

(Thank You Mr. Johnson.  Hope your looking down, or up, so that you can see the results of your seed; Detroit, Divorce Rate, 60 million on Food Stamps, 75% of black children have no father, and on & on & on…)   LBJ – Indeed

Iraq war, Afghan war lost

Exclusive: Joseph Farah says U.S. has never had victory strategy for either conflict

Posted on January 6, 2014 by Joseph Farah

With the news that Fallujah is back in the hands of al-Qaida, it’s fair to say the 13-year-old U.S. war in Iraq resulting in some 37,000 casualties has been lost.
A series of bombings by terrorists in Baghdad over the weekend killed more than 20.
As U.S. forces continue to draw down in Afghanistan with the Taliban, allies of al-Qaida, still occupying most of the country, it’s difficult to see what was achieved in the wake of the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.
The longest war in U.S. history has resulted in some 21,000 casualties, with 73 percent of them coming since 2009, during the leadership of Barack Obama.
The 2004 battle for Fallujah alone, conducted as a street-by-street, house-by-house ground campaign resulted in the deaths of 95 American soldiers with 560 wounded.
Each of these wars was waged by the U.S. as a financial cost of billions per month.
It’s time to ask the obvious question: Was it all worth it?

Neither war had clear goals from the start. What began as vague “wars against terrorism” certainly didn’t defeat terrorism. Terrorism is on the rise in both countries.   That’s what happens when you fight wars against a “tactic” of war rather than a clearly defined enemy.
