Well I guess if Obama can get the Nobel Peace Prize and Bill Clinton is stilled called ‘Honorable’ then it’s only appropriate that Pope John Paul should be sainted.  ( I do apologize for putting this great man in the same sentence as those ‘others’  but don’t go away yet…)

OK there’s no getting around it.  We live in an upside down world.  If I had a dollar for every example of this I would be writing this post at 30,000 feet in my personal jet on the way to anywhere, who cares…No doubt this is a very good man.  Just about the closest to God us mortals can get here on earth.  So don’t get me wrong, I love this guy and all he stands for.   BUT his job description doesn’t put him in the ranks of a Mother Teresa.    He was Pope.  The leader of the Catholic Church and the most prominent Christian on earth.    As head of any organization, the leaders’ first obligation is to promote and advance the organization.  In the case of a church this means to advance the Word of God so good that the church membership will grow and and gain even more influence for ‘the word of God’.

Not only did this not happen for 26 years under Pope John Paul, but the exact opposite!

1.  The world Catholic population grew but mostly in Africa and South America.  In Europe, the home of the Catholic Church,  over the same period of time the number of priests dropped more than 20%.    In religious life, the number of male religious (excluding priests) dropped by 27% over the period of the Annuarium study, and the number of female religious dropped by 22%.

2.  As of 2006, ( a few months after the reign of Pope John Paul II ended): “For the first time in history, we are no longer at the top: Muslims have overtaken us,” Monsignor Vittorio Formenti said in an interview with the Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano. Formenti compiles the Vatican’s yearbook.  He said that Catholics accounted for 17.4 percent of the world population while Muslims were at 19.2 percent.

So the Catholic Church drops to 2nd place and membership declines in Europe and the United States?  What does that say about the effect of this Pope’s message?

My pet peeve with Pope John Paul II is this;  He actually wrote to President Bush in 2001 and requested ‘clemency’ for Timothy McVeigh!    Just maybe that wouldn’t be so outrageous if he would have taken some of this time to, in any way, console the families of the 168 people and 19 children who this piece of crap blew up.  So this Pope found in his heart time for McVeigh and not all those innocent victims whose worlds were destroyed ???   Sounds like a man who doesn’t give too much qualified thought to his actions.

And then there is arguably his biggest blunder as leader of the Catholic Church; the scandal with the pedophile priests.  The good name of the Church and all those sincere and dedicated priests have to suffer innumerable jokes and degradations.   What a disgrace and what a shame that it was not dealt with immediately and effectively.   Why didn’t he act immediately?  What was so important for so long that he had no time for the biggest scandal in Church history?  He tried to ‘sweep it under the rug’ and the Church has been bleeding ever since.

OK so this is picture is not the latest breaking news but it sure does reflect on why we are losing the PR war and battle after battle in The War for Civilization.    And it sure does reflect on Pope John Paul II and his questionable ability to promote the word of God and the Christian religion. I know, The Pope is a busy man.  In fact he’s probably one of the busiest guys in the  world.  But I bet he still reads more than most of us.  So then after seeing this picture are we to assume that he never read anything about Islam, the Churches biggest ‘competitor’ and the potential fulfillment of Gods warning;

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. – Mathew 7:15

So Pope John Paul II not only bought into Islams deadly propaganda, but he endorsed it by kissing the book promoting a false prophet, a false God and the death of all “infidels”.

You’ve got to hand it to those subhuman Islamists.   They make the Nazi propaganda machine look like amateur hour.  This picture of The Pope kissing the Koran is all the evidence that you will ever need of the unfortunate reality of Islams great propaganda coup over the West.   1400 years of death and destruction and the West still cannot recognize the cloak of religion that Islam has used to camouflage it’s evil.  Or as Jesus warned us; ‘the wolf in sheep’s clothing’.

So rest in peace John Paul II.   You were a great and good man and we sure could use more like you today.   But we need Popes who not only endorse the word of God, but that recognize the reality of evil and use their mighty pedestal to expose it and to defeat it.
