–  The Bottom Line  –

The homosexual agenda has had an easy rode since the sixties drugged out protesters declared 'free love.'   First they presented their perversion as just another harmless vice which they should have the 'right' to enjoy.  Then as they gained ground through lies and media propaganda (see The Marketing of Evil) it was made out to be 'a choice and a lifestyle that should be respected by all people .   It was easy to convince most of the 'irreligious' by labeling them 'bigots' if they didn't play along.  But the religious, and dare I say 'the sane' people weren't buying it because in reality homosexuality, or indeed any perversion or vice, is unacceptable merely based on it's potential damage to society.  The religious argument is a solid one as long as one has faith in God.  The more potent and uncontestable argument is that it is dangerous and potentially fatal to our very existence.

I was never a real fan of Pope John Paul (see Is John Paul II a Saint?).  But I'm beginning to appreciate Pope Benedict for his no nonsense stance on the important issues.  The latest is this excellent warning about homosexual unions:

Pope Benedict XVI has a warning for all mankind: Gay marriage is one of a number of threats to the family unit that holds the potential to undermine “the future of humanity itself.”   “This is not a simple social convention, but rather the fundamental cell of every society,” he said. “Consequently, policies which undermine the family threaten human dignity and the future of humanity itself. The family unit is fundamental for the educational process and for the development both of individuals and states.”

During an address to diplomats from nearly 180 nations, the pope discussed the importance of education and the need to reinforce the traditional man and wife paradigm. According to the Daily Mail, these were some of the pope’s strongest comments yet about gay marriage, as he said that the family unit is necessary to sustain both education and development.  …
